Beehive
Beehive
I saw this on display at Wisley Garden, and was struck how the Bees had created a perfect home or dwellings for themselves, but within a regular rectangular shape, and I considered their architectural Floor Plan magnificent and beautiful.
I then copied its layout as a template to experiment with colour and design, my final addition of of a curved line of central circles showed a dynamic flow through the structure.

Final Painted version
I messed with the actual paint colour, mainly acrylic washes until I liked it, but the surface finish has a soft unevenness to it, and my graphic sense of neatness kicked in, so I digitally simplified and flattened it as if it were a screen print, but being digital can be printed on any medium.
