I saw this small forked branch and saw a head, torso and legs. I later added the adjustable arms stolen from an old mannequin.

The back of the head was as is, but the front facial features needed adding somehow. I chose a craft  clay, which was self curing and also had minimal shrinkage, and reasonable adhesion to existing wood.
