Football Jug

This is a slip moulded piece, cast in a plaster mould of a football with a cardboard tube on top, the resulting vase was then partially dried, smoothed, and handle pulled and fitted to the widened. reshaped rim. The excess handle pulling led to the yinyan squiggly line decoration. Fired to stoneware temperatures.

Jugs & Vases

Art Nouveau

Hand thrown, and hand painted vase

Art Deco Jug

This was slip moulded in same mould as top football one, however each casting led to different finishing design, this one with a "Deco" feel.

Elizabethan Vase

Hand thrown, and hand painted wax resist design  similar to one found on an Elizabethan piece of pottery

Other pieces

Cake Stand

made in 2 pieces, my wife still uses this as a fruit bowl (Stoneware)

Plate

I made small wooden stamps to press into the clay on the rim. (Stoneware)

Pierced Vase

Hopelessly impractical vase, not sure where it went, but fun experiment, as are all my pieces.

My Blue Period

Modern slab design

Was experimenting with pressing things into the clay, like Lego and sticking on other lug like shapes

Ethnic Afro inspired vase

I did actually sell this one, but it got returned following day as one of the handles broke off, its glued back on now, so I’ve still got it displaying dried flowers

Light Blue jug

Handthrown 2 piece construction with decorated join

Serving bowl with lid

One of my few pieces with a lid, tried hand-painted floral design on unglazed section.
